Two new stores, “Chaya Shizuku” and “Nippon no Daidokoro Osaka Romantic Tei,” opened simultaneously inside Namba Nankai-dori on July 15, 2025. We were invited to a special pre-opening media preview!

During the preview, the concepts of “Chaya Shizuku” and “Nippon no Daidokoro Osaka Romantic Tei” were explained.

This is “Chaya Shizuku.”
The interior features only an order counter and a retail corner, designed for takeout.

We sampled the “Matcha Fukashi Pound & Soft Serve.” The freshly made, chewy “Matcha Fukashi Pound” pairs perfectly with the rich matcha and vanilla soft serve!

This is “Nippon no Daidokoro Osaka Romantic Tei.”
Located on the second and third floors above “Chaya Shizuku,” the interior emphasizes traditional Japanese culture.

The restaurant offers traditional Japanese dishes as well as popular items like okonomiyaki, appealing to both locals and international visitors.

Adjacent to “Chaya Shizuku” and “Nippon no Daidokoro Osaka Romantic Tei” is the sweet potato specialty store “Yomoya.”
“Yomoya” is scheduled to open around September 2025.
The store features only a counter, offering a standing-style space to enjoy sweet potato-based dishes and drinks.
The storefront has its shutter partially lowered, inspired by the concept of a hidden izakaya inside a warehouse.

“Chaya Shizuku” is a traditional Japanese teahouse (ochaya) located in Kanazawa, known for its preserved Edo-period atmosphere and association with geisha culture. Established in the Higashi Chaya District—a historic geisha entertainment area—it offers visitors a glimpse into the refined arts, tea ceremonies, and performances of geiko (geisha) and maiko (apprentices). The teahouse maintains its original wooden lattice façade and serves as both a cultural venue and a reminder of Kanazawa’s artistic heritage.

Nippon no Daidokoro Osaka Romantic Tei

“Nippon no Daidokoro Osaka Romantic Tei” is a nostalgic dining and entertainment complex in Osaka, Japan, designed to evoke the Showa-era charm of the 1950s-60s. The site features retro-style eateries, bars, and shops, offering visitors a glimpse into post-war Osaka’s vibrant culture and culinary traditions. Its name, meaning “Osaka Romantic Restaurant,” reflects its aim to recreate the romanticized atmosphere of mid-20th-century Osaka, known as Japan’s kitchen (“Nippon no Daidokoro”).
