Rice seems to have become a bit cheaper, but…

Compared to the peak period, it is indeed cheaper, but compared to two years ago, it is still over 1,000 yen more expensive, so it is hard to say it is not financially tough.

The retail price of rice (5 kg) at supermarkets for the latest period of April 27 to May 3 this year: branded rice is 3,857 yen for 5 kg. Blended rice is 3,600 yen, with an average of 3,796 yen. The average price peaked at the beginning of this year, exceeding 4,400 yen, but has been on a downward trend since then.

I now feel the joy of finding rice priced in the 3,000 yen range.
