On the afternoon of the 5th, a man in his 20s waiting at a traffic light in his car in Tsushima City, Aichi Prefecture was struck with a hammer-like object by a man from another vehicle. The assailant fled the scene, and police are searching for him on suspicion of attempted murder.

According to police, around 4:30 PM on the 5th, a man in his 20s who works as a company employee made an emergency call reporting he had been “hit with a hammer.”

The victim was waiting at an intersection in his car when a man got out of a light vehicle stopped two cars behind him and began knocking on his window.

When the victim got out of his car, the man struck him in the head with a hammer-like object.

The victim bled from his head but sustained only minor injuries.

The victim told police he could not recall any conflicts or reasons why someone would attack him.

The assailant is described as being in his 50s, approximately 160cm tall, slightly overweight, with black hair slicked back, wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and sunglasses. He fled westward by car.

Police are searching for the man on suspicion of attempted murder.
