On Tuesday, April 21, a female childcare worker (59) was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a child’s face by slapping it with an open hand at a nursery school in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture.

On Thursday, April 23, the director of a nursery school in Takayama City made a 110 emergency call, reporting that “there was an incident of a childcare worker assaulting a child at our facility.” As a result of the investigation, the suspect, Fumiko Yamamoto, a childcare worker employed at this nursery school, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
