The Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) conducted an operation against activities suspected of violating regulations. The operation focused on several stalls in the Periuk District which were allegedly being used as night entertainment venues.

The Acting Head of the Tangerang City Satpol PP stated that the enforcement action was taken following reports from the public regarding alleged prostitution practices operating behind coffee stalls.

“We have followed up on public reports regarding the existence of karaoke venues suspected of being prostitution fronts disguised as coffee stalls. A raid was conducted last night and several stalls were found to indeed provide karaoke facilities, song guides, and even alcoholic beverages on the premises,” they said.

During the operation, officers found a number of pieces of evidence strengthening the suspicion of violations, ranging from karaoke facilities to alcoholic beverages being sold on site.

They explained that the enforcement action was carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, namely the Regional Regulation concerning the prohibition of prostitution and the circulation of alcoholic beverages in Tangerang City.

“We have conducted a direct inspection of the location, and as a result, a number of pieces of evidence were found. The business owners will be questioned further in a Minor Offense Trial (Tipiring) in the near future,” they added.

Furthermore, similar activities will continue to be carried out periodically, targeting other points considered prone to violations, as an effort to maintain public order and environmental comfort.
