A number of schools in Sidoarjo have taken swift action by temporarily suspending in-person classes and switching to online learning. This decision was made in compliance with Sidoarjo Regency Regulation Number 400.3/3497/438.5.1/2025 concerning the Safety and Security of Students.

This policy is not without reason. The heated social situation in several areas of East Java has led schools to take the safety of students very seriously. The safety and comfort of students is the top priority, so the in-person learning process has been temporarily moved to students’ homes.

A school spokesperson explained that the implementation of online classes is not just an emergency solution, but also a strategy to maintain the quality of education. According to the spokesperson, learning is focused on five main aspects: literacy, numeracy, Islamic studies, personal development, and English.

“With the online method, students’ right to learn is still fulfilled. Teachers also prepare creative and interactive materials through Zoom Meeting, so the children remain enthusiastic about following the lessons,” the spokesperson said.

In addition, teachers also guide students to be able to manage their study time at home in a disciplined manner, so that academic quality is maintained even though they are not in the classroom.
