“Acid Attack in North Jakarta, Police Arrest Four Student Perpetrators”

Tanjung Priok Police Station has successfully uncovered an acid attack case that occurred on Sungai Bambu Street, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
Four students suspected of carrying out the attack on another school student were arrested.
The victim, identified as AP (17), is also a vocational high school student from the Tanjung Priok area.
“The perpetrators have been secured by Tanjung Priok Police Station and are still under investigation,” said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Erick Frendriz.
The police chief explained that before the attack, a group of about 10 students from a vocational school in Koja deliberately rode around looking for rivals to fight.
When they couldn’t find any opponents, they suddenly encountered the victim, who was riding a motorcycle with two others.
“Spontaneously, the perpetrators approached the victim’s vehicle, then fell and splashed acid,” he said.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the emergency room of RSCM Hospital in Central Jakarta. Meanwhile, the perpetrators are still being questioned at Tanjung Priok Police Station.
“Investigators are still conducting further examination of the perpetrators and will determine their status as suspects or witnesses, or whether detention is necessary,” he added.
The questioning is being conducted with the assistance of the Correctional Center since the perpetrators are minors.

The incident occurred when the perpetrators randomly attacked their victim. They rode motorcycles in a convoy searching for targets.
As a result of the attack, the victim suffered severe injuries to the face and body. The acid attack was captured by CCTV cameras near the scene.
