Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened the opening ceremony of Jakarta Economic Forum (JEF) 2025 and launched ACT JEF 2025: #JagaJakarta at Plaza Tenggara, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Central Jakarta.

In his speech, Pramono appreciated this year’s main theme, “Jakarta Economic Symphony Towards a Global and Cultural City”. According to him, this theme reflects the spirit of cross-sector collaboration in realizing Jakarta as a global city.

“I imagine this symphony like an orchestration. Orchestration will be good if the conductor can manage it well. So for me, collaboration with Bank Indonesia and OJK becomes one of the key words if we want to advance Jakarta,” said Pramono.

He also revealed his idea to hold a market digitalization competition involving Bank Indonesia and OJK. This program aims to create healthy competition among banks in providing digital education to merchants in traditional markets across the capital.

“Frankly, that is 1000 percent my idea,” he added.

Pramono explained that the market digitalization competition has had a significant positive impact, especially with the increased use of QRIS in Jakarta’s markets. Besides encouraging transaction efficiency, digitalization also helps create a safer market environment.

“Once people in the markets use QRIS, thugs and pickpockets decrease significantly. It’s different with cash,” he explained.

Furthermore, Pramono hopes that collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government, Bank Indonesia, OJK, and banks can provide positive impacts for Jakarta’s economic growth.

“Jakarta is now growing at 5.18 percent, above the national economic growth of 5.12 percent. Inflation is also very well controlled. On this occasion we convey that Jakarta’s taxation target has thankfully been achieved,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor assessed that the implementation of JEF and JakreatiFest is a major joint effort that provides real contribution to Indonesia’s economy. He emphasized the importance of optimizing new economic potential in Jakarta through mentoring and training for MSME actors.

“Most of the fostered MSMEs have successfully gone digital and gone export, and have contributed significantly to Jakarta’s economic development. Other potentials that need to be promoted include urban tourism and MICE development, including revitalization of the Old Town area and Thousand Islands tourism,” he explained.

The Head of Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office added that throughout 2025, various series of activities have been held as part of JEF, such as panel discussions, book launch “Jakarta Economic Transformation for Sustainable Growth”, Writing Competition attended by more than 400 participants, and entrepreneurship workshops for disabled business actors.

The peak of JEF 2025 was held in the format of a collaborative economic festival involving more than 80 participant booths, consisting of MSME actors fostered by the Jakarta Provincial Government, Kodam Jaya, Polda Metro Jaya, OJK, banks, and creative communities. This activity also featured community showcases, education booths, and band competition.

According to him, JEF has become a real symbol of synergy among all pentahelix elements of government, regulators, business world, academics, and communities in supporting Jakarta’s economic development that is inclusive, innovative, and sustainable.

“The spirit of optimism was also conveyed by the Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor. He emphasized that Jakarta is not only the center of Indonesia’s economy and finance, but also the heart of service-based economy, creative economy, innovative, and digital economy. More than 56 percent of Jakarta’s economy grows from this sector, and that’s where Jakarta’s future lies,” he concluded.
