Truck Driver Dumps Sewage into Ciliwung River in Depok, Claims to Be Chasing a Target.
Depok –
Police stated that the truck driver who dumped a load of feces into the Ciliwung River, West Java, from the Cijago Toll Bridge visited the Jagorawi Toll PJR office. The renter explained the reason the truck driver dumped the waste improperly.
“Yes, so the main point is it must be checked again, waste must not be dumped in the river. There is already a disposal site at the landfill over there, that already exists. Because at the landfill you have to pay,” said the Head of Jagorawi PJR, Police Commissioner Akhmad Jajuli, when contacted on Wednesday (9/3/2025).
He said the truck driver claimed he was chasing a target. According to him, the driver dumped the fecal load into the river to quickly arrive at the next fecal suction location.
“Well, the reason he dumped it there is because he got another order, but the tank was still full. So he dumped it anywhere to chase that new order target, but his method was wrong,” he said.
He said the truck renter wanted to return the vehicle to the owner. However, police advised that the renter apologize and make a stamped statement letter.
“Initially, the vehicle was going to be returned to the owner, ‘no need, the important thing is you just apologize to Cijago, make a stamped statement that you will not repeat it again’,” explained Jajuli.
In a video that was viewed, the truck was on the Cijago Toll road. A hose from the truck was seen extending towards the Ciliwung River and dumping feces.
