A new revelation has emerged in the high-profile Sheena Bora murder case in Mumbai. In the special CBI court, a friend of Sheena from Guwahati testified that there was a property dispute between Sheena and her brother Mikhail. The witness stated that from 2012 to 2015, Mikhail kept convincing her that Sheena was alive and confined in a rehabilitation center in Pune.

The witness told the court that Mikhail had said his mother Indrani Mukerjea had forcibly kept Sheena in the rehabilitation center. Mikhail had asked the witness for help to get Sheena out of there. The witness said it was clear from the conversation that Mikhail was completely convinced that Sheena was alive.

The witness also reminded the court of an email from Sheena dated 26 August 2009, in which she wrote that there was a lot of trouble and drama around her and she was thinking about taking sanyas (renunciation). The witness said that Sheena had told her about her relationship with Rahul Mukerjea.

Rahul is the son of Indrani’s former husband and media magnate Peter Mukerjea. The witness also stated that Sheena and Mikhail were adopted by their maternal grandparents and legally, Sheena and Indrani were considered sisters. The witness said that Sheena was not greedy but she couldn’t say anything about Mikhail. The witness’s testimony has concluded and a new witness will be presented in the next hearing.

Mumbai

Mumbai is a major port city on India’s west coast and the financial capital of the country. Historically, it was a collection of seven islands that were developed into a single landmass and came under British control in the 17th century, growing into a global trade hub. Today, it is a vibrant, densely populated metropolis known for its Bollywood film industry and the iconic Gateway of India monument.

rehabilitation center

A rehabilitation center is a modern healthcare facility designed to help patients recover physical, mental, or occupational abilities after an illness, injury, or surgery. Its history is rooted in the 20th century, evolving significantly after World War I and II to treat injured soldiers, which led to the development of advanced physical and occupational therapy practices. Today, these centers provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to support patients in regaining independence and improving their quality of life.

sanyas

I am unable to identify a specific place or cultural site named “Sanyas.” The term “sanyas” (or sannyasa) refers to the life stage of renunciation within Hinduism, where a person abandons worldly attachments to focus on spiritual liberation. It is not a physical location but a philosophical concept and a way of life.

Rahul Mukerjea

I am unable to provide a summary for “Rahul Mukerjea” as it does not refer to a known place or cultural site. It appears to be the name of an individual, potentially a public figure or character, rather than a location.

Peter Mukerjea

Peter Mukerjea is not a place or cultural site, but a former media executive. He was the CEO of the STAR India network and later became widely known for his involvement in the high-profile Sheena Bora murder case in India. His story is a part of recent Indian criminal and media history rather than a cultural landmark.
