The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has achieved a major success in Nashik, Maharashtra. The CBI raided two illegal call centers. These call centers were being operated under the name Swagan Business Solutions Private Limited. Approximately 60 people worked here and were involved in scamming foreign citizens by posing as insurance agents.

People working at these centers used to scam individuals from foreign countries by pretending to be insurance agents or government officials. They particularly targeted people from the United Kingdom.

The investigation revealed that these fraudsters would sell policies to victims that did not actually exist, after taking their credit/debit cards or money.

The scammers at the call centers used technical tricks to make international calls. For example, they used Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and spoofed numbers.
