In Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, a woman was strangled by her boyfriend inside a moving auto-rickshaw on Monday afternoon. The woman later died during treatment at the hospital.

A police officer stated that the incident occurred in the Sakinaka area of Mumbai, where the young man attacked the woman inside the auto-rickshaw. The accused also injured himself with the same weapon.
An officer from Sakinaka police station reported that the incident took place on Khairani Road in Dutt Nagar. The attacker, identified as the woman’s boyfriend, strangled her inside the auto-rickshaw.

During the incident, the woman tried to escape by jumping out of the vehicle but collapsed after running a short distance. The accused then attempted to take his own life by slashing his neck with the same sharp weapon.
Police said, “Passersby informed the police, after which both were taken to a nearby hospital, where the woman was declared dead. Meanwhile, the accused is in stable condition.”

After investigating the case, police confirmed that the accused was the deceased woman’s boyfriend. The two knew each other beforehand. An argument broke out between them inside the auto-rickshaw, leading to the murder. The officer stated that a murder case has been registered against the accused, and legal action is being taken.
