The deceased from Odisha have been identified as Dushmant Kumar Nayak (46), Dushmant Kumar Swain (46), and Manoj Kumar Patra (45) from Jagatsinghpur district. Police sources indicate that the fourth victim was Rajesh Santuka, a well-known businessman from CDA, Cuttack. All four were employees of a private finance company in Bhubaneswar and had traveled to Kolkata for official work.

The fire spread rapidly through the hotel premises, resulting in 14 fatalities. Reports suggest the fire was first noticed around 8:30 PM, causing panic in the crowded Burrabazar area. Many guests were trapped in their rooms as they couldn’t escape in time. Immediate rescue operations began, but the spreading flames made efforts difficult.
