Former Kolkata Police DCP Shantanu Sinha Biswas has already been arrested in the Sona Papu fraud case. Now, the central investigating agency ED has its eye on 30 more police officers in Bengal. This information has been received from sources.

An ED source said that the investigation is trying to trace the source of money. Not only that, Shantanu also has properties in Dubai, outside the country. Several mobile phones have been confiscated during the investigation. However, important information including chats and call recordings have been deleted from them. Efforts are underway to recover them with the help of digital forensic experts. The ED source further said that several other Kolkata Police officers are also on the suspect list for their alleged involvement in this land grabbing racket. According to sources, about 30 officers of various ranks have already been identified.

It is noteworthy that the ED arrested Kasba terror Sona Papu on multiple charges including forceful land grabbing, illegal construction there, and financial embezzlement. In this same case, Shantanu Sinha Biswas, a close associate of Sona Papu, and a businessman have also been arrested. ED officials are continuing the investigation by interrogating them.
