Road Rampage: Speeding SUV Crushes 6 Vehicles, Woman Battles Life and Death After Being Hit

Navi Mumbai News: A dangerous accident occurred in Navi Mumbai. In the residential area of CBD-Belapur, a speeding SUV hit a 35-year-old married woman from behind while she was walking on the road near the footpath. The vehicle dragged her for nearly 50 meters. Not only that, the car also crashed into six other vehicles parked on the roadside, including four cars, one auto-rickshaw, and one sports bike.

After the collision, local people rushed the injured woman to a nearby hospital in time, where she is undergoing treatment. She is conscious and her condition is improving. The woman has been identified as Mohini Shinde, who lived in a slum near Artists’ Village. She sustained serious head injuries and has marks of injury on her face and near her knees. She makes a living by working as a housemaid in different flats in the area.

Acting on a complaint by a local resident, a case has been registered at the CBD-Belapur Police Station against the accused SUV driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligent driving on public roads, endangering the life or personal safety of others, mischief causing damage or loss to property, and under the Motor Vehicles Act for dangerous driving.

A friend of the SUV driver has also been made an accused. Regarding the case, it was stated that the SUV was being driven by a teenager, Vikram Gangadhar Kambale (19). With him was Akash Chandrakant Kambale (26), who works as a private driver. The two are distant relatives. Before the police team reached the spot, people from the vicinity and passersby had taken the injured woman to MGM Hospital, CBD-Belapur.
