A firefighter involved in the rescue operation stated that the firecracker factory was located in a dried-up paddy field. The intense heat worsened the situation. Local sources confirmed that at least 13 workers died. Among the 40 injured, five are in critical condition. Upon receiving the news, police, fire department, and ambulances quickly reached the scene. The injured were rescued and admitted to Thrissur Medical College.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed concern upon hearing about the firecracker factory explosion. He instructed the state’s chief secretary to take all necessary measures immediately.
