Hyderabad: Today, the younger generation needs to listen to the Ram Katha, because the Ram Katha alone matures the soul. It teaches one to fight difficult situations.
These sentiments were expressed by the discourse master, the venerable Dandi Swami Shivenandashramji Maharaj, adorned with infinite blessings, on the second day of the Shri Ram Katha organized on the occasion of Purushottam Maas under the auspices of the Pareek Samaj Hyderabad Secunderabad at the Haryana Bhawan in Secunderabad. Maharaj said that without the grace of God and the company of saints, there is no spiritual discourse, and without spiritual discourse, wisdom does not awaken. Without God’s grace, the soul can do nothing.
When the accumulated merit of the soul’s many births arises, then it obtains God’s spiritual discourse. As soon as the discourse begins, one remembers business and debts. Sins have been sitting in our conscience for many births, preventing us from listening to the discourse. They do not let us sing God’s praises. If you use your mobile for three hours, you won’t feel sleepy, but if you sit with a rosary for three minutes, you will feel sleepy. You won’t feel sleepy during gossip in the discourse, but you will feel sleepy during the Lord’s discourse. The soul’s very nature is its inclination. When the soul contemplates worldly matters, its mind does not wander, but when it listens to God’s name and discourse, the mind begins to wander.
Ramji’s exile inspires patience and strength
Maharaj said that the Ram Katha is the foundation of life. Whoever wants to learn how to live in this world should listen to the Ram Katha. If you want to live, you should read the Ram Katha. Today there is a need to listen to the Ram Katha because the Ram Katha alone matures the soul’s life. It teaches one to fight difficult situations. The Ram Katha is your willpower. Young people become dejected over small matters and lose heart, whereas Ramji spent 14 years of exile with ease.
Sitaji was abducted by Ravana. If it were a person of today, they would start crying. The Lord also lamented, but he kept searching. He did not stop. Shedding tears from immense love is natural. The Ram Katha is above life. Due to arrogance, intellect is lost. Without the company of good people, the soul begins to decline. To avoid decline in life, it is very essential to learn from the experience of elders. If young people follow what elders say, they can be successful in life.
