Dr. Bharati Sudame, promoter of Hindi in non-Hindi regions, receives Acharya Anand Sahitya Award
Dr. Bharati Sudame, a 70-year-old scholar of Hindi-Marathi literature, worked as a promoter for the Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti in Wardha from 1973 to 2007, spreading awareness of the Hindi language among non-Hindi speaking students and the general public. She briefly edited the Hindi magazine Yugdharma and presented Hindi lessons for non-Hindi students on All India Radio.
While teaching Hindi, she implemented research projects on teaching methodologies. From eighth grade to B.Ed. teacher trainees, she taught at institutions like Bal Bharati Pune and NCERT in New Delhi, working in schools and colleges. She has had a passion for writing since the beginning, with her plays, articles, stories, radio talks, novels, reviews, one-act plays, research essays, and poetry collections published in various magazines.
She has been honored with the Adhyatmik Shri Alankaran and Srijan Alankaran for her novel Bhrigunandan, the Vipra Shiromani Samman by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for her artistic biography Satrangi Pakhen, and the Gyanyogi Puraskar as a distinguished literary figure.
