Hyderabad: A person who is mentally defeated in any field cannot progress in life. With the power of a positive mental attitude, even the biggest problems can be overcome. Therefore, one should develop mentally while embracing knowledge and renouncing all forms of negativity.

These thoughts were expressed by Sadhguru Rameshji in a satsang organized today at Our Palace in Banjara Hills. Rameshji said that only when our physical and mental health is good will our financial situation also be good. It is often said that wealth is an obstacle on the spiritual path, but that is not the case. Earning money and living a good life are not opposed to spirituality. The only condition is that one should not have attachment to wealth.

All problems arise because of attachment. Satsang and the Guru’s knowledge never let wealth become an obstacle and propel one forward on the spiritual path. In essence, one should maintain the enthusiasm to progress in all fields, including work, business, and knowledge, without any attachment or ego. A person who is not progressive experiences stagnation in life. Therefore, every day of ours should be one of improvement.

A Person’s Progress Paves the Way for Society’s Development

Rameshji said that moving forward in life is our birthright. God has given us birth for development itself. Therefore, one should utilize life well and progress towards advancement. The progress of one individual proves helpful in the development of thousands of people. To be a factor in others’ progress while progressing oneself is a virtuous deed. If God has made us capable, then we should make use of that and pursue spiritual development. Also, perform your duties with the right intention without worrying about the results; this yields results swiftly.

Guru Maa said that until Ram comes into our mind, he will not come to us. Similarly, if we want good mental health, we must allow good thoughts to enter through the mind. Only then can we reflect them outwardly in our behavior. One should let go of petty thinking, adopt a broad perspective, and strive to establish one’s harmony with the universe.

Citing the example of Lord Ganesha, Guru Maa said that we too should abandon a small head (limited thinking) and embrace expansion. If one wishes to make everything auspicious in life, one must assimilate expansive thinking. For self-welfare, one should renounce negative emotions and embrace feelings like love, positivity, empathy, and gratitude. Also, one should adopt discipline in life through meditation and good thinking.

Banjara Hills

Historically a rural area on the city’s outskirts, it was developed into a major upscale district in the latter half of the 20th century, now known for its luxury hotels, restaurants, and panoramic views of Hussain Sagar Lake.

Our Palace

“Our Palace” is a generic term, but if referring to a specific cultural site, it often denotes a historic royal residence. For example, the Palace of Versailles in France was originally a hunting lodge before being transformed by Louis XIV into a grand symbol of absolute monarchy. Today, such palaces typically serve as museums, preserving art and history for the public.
