Haryana, April 16, 2026. Following the IDFC Bank scandal, the Haryana government has now become fully alert. A major decision has been taken with the aim of strengthening administrative transparency and financial discipline. According to the directive, it will now be mandatory for any department to provide complete information before making any purchase exceeding 1 crore rupees.
This order has been specifically applied to three key departments, which must provide all information related to the proposal, budget, necessity, and process to the concerned senior officers before the procurement process. The aim of this step is to bring transparency to government expenditures and curb unnecessary or suspicious spending.
According to the minister, complaints of irregularities and corruption in large procurement processes have often surfaced. In such a scenario, this new system will ensure that every major expense is pre-examined and approved, thereby establishing accountability.
Under this decision, departments have also been instructed to fully comply with tender procedures, competitive rates, and quality standards before making purchases. Furthermore, records of all documents must be securely maintained so they can be presented during any future investigation.
The government believes that such strict measures will not only curb corruption but also ensure better and more effective utilization of government resources.
This decision is considered a significant step towards administrative reform, which could prove helpful in making government operations more transparent and accountable.
