SGCCI Organizes 8-Day “AI in Action” Workshop; Enthusiasm Soars in Textiles, Startups, Marketing, and Homemakers
With free versions of advanced AI tools becoming available worldwide, the pace of learning and adopting AI in Surat has accelerated significantly.
As tools like ChatGPT Go, Gemini Banana, and Zoho gain popularity, the smart city of Surat has once again emerged as a national leader in embracing new technologies.
The textile industry no longer needs to book models in Mumbai or arrange expensive photoshoots—AI can create premium catalogs with just a few clicks.
Not only that, AI has also become a personal digital chef in the kitchen. Instead of TV shows, homemakers now ask ChatGPT—”Make paneer lavabdar today, tell me step-by-step!”—and AI instantly prepares recipes based on ingredients available in their homes.
The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) organized the “AI in Action – 8 Days Action Taking Workshop” at the Samriddhi Building in Nanpura. This workshop ran daily from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
Participants learned in simple language about practical applications of generative AI in business, digital marketing automation, content and video creation, business presentations, pitch decks, creating logos and reels, AI agent creation, and personalized birthday songs.
The workshop attracted textile business owners, digital marketing professionals, startup founders, coaches-trainers, food manufacturers, and a large number of homemakers.
This will prove to be a major game changer for the textile industry. A textile trader from Surat explained, “Previously, booking models in Mumbai for catalog shoots would cost between 5,000 to 75,000 rupees. Now with AI, even more beautiful catalogs are created in just 10 minutes—and at a much lower cost. This is truly a game changer.”
AI brings personal chefs to every home. A homemaker who attended the workshop said with a laugh, “Now I have a personal master chef—ChatGPT! All recipes are available in Gujarati and tailored to ingredients available at home. Now we cook something new every day.”
Surat is moving toward becoming India’s AI capital. Workshop participants learned how to create premium catalogs, video reels, business presentations, marketing plans, brand shoots, and personalized content within minutes using AI.
This SGCCI initiative has demonstrated that AI is no longer just a technology but has become an everyday necessity, and Surat is emerging as a leading city in India’s AI revolution with its rapid adoption capabilities.
