A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday near the Moraiya Bridge in Sanand taluka on the Bavla-Sarkhej highway.
A Swift car traveling from Salangpur to Visnagar crashed into the back of a moving truck container on the road. The impact was so severe that the car was completely destroyed, resulting in the immediate deaths of two people, while three other young men and women were seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, upon hearing the sound of the collision, nearby residents rushed to the scene. Upon receiving the information, a 108 ambulance and a police team arrived at the accident site. The injured were rushed to a private hospital in Ahmedabad in a bleeding condition, where they continue to receive treatment.
The injured have been identified as Kashish Prajapati (24, resident of Vijapur), Vedashi Patel (24, resident of Patan), and Vivek Darji (23, resident of Mahesana). The bodies of the two deceased have been sent to a civil hospital for post-mortem.
Following the accident, long queues of vehicles formed on the Bavla-Sarkhej highway, disrupting traffic. Upon receiving the information, the Changodar police team reached the spot, removed the damaged vehicles from the road, and normalized traffic flow.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the accident occurred due to the car driver losing control of the vehicle. The police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
