Despite taking place in heavy rain, the 2025 World Cleanup Day commemoration in the city of Medan was still enthusiastically welcomed by thousands of participants.

The Medan City Government commemorated World Cleanup Day by holding a mass mutual cooperation activity and drainage normalization with participants from various community elements, Medan City Government apparatus, as well as TNI and Polri elements, held on Jalan Trikora, Medan Denai District.

The mass mutual cooperation and drainage normalization was led by the Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare of the Medan City Secretariat.

It was stated that the Medan City Government welcomes this movement with the spirit of « Medan for All » as a manifestation of the vision to make Medan an inclusive, advanced, and sustainable blessed city.

« This activity is not just ceremonial, but is a momentum to build healthier and more sustainable habits and lifestyles, » it was said.

Through this mass mutual cooperation activity and drainage channel normalization, the Medan City Government is committed to building a more organized environment, smooth drainage, and reducing the risk of flooding.

It is believed that with synergy between the government, community, and business world, the City of Medan can become an example in sustainable cleanliness movements.

« Hopefully through World Cleanup Day 2025, the City of Medan can continue to synergize in building an inclusive, advanced, and sustainable blessed city, » it was hoped.

Not only taking place on Jalan Trikora, the implementation of World Cleanup Day was also held at several points and is expected to collect approximately 4 tons of waste.
