Anand (Gujarat): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi began his one-day visit to Gujarat on Saturday by addressing newly elected district unit presidents at an event here.
Gandhi arrived at Vadodara Airport in the morning and was taken directly to the event venue in Anand, where a three-day training camp for Congress workers, including district unit presidents, is being held.
The Congress posted on social media platform ‘X’ that Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, addressed the training camp for district presidents organized under the ‘Organization Creation Campaign.’
The Gujarat unit of the Congress has organized the camp for newly appointed district Congress committee presidents at a resort near Anand city, in preparation for the 2027 state assembly elections. The camp will conclude on July 28.
The party had earlier stated that the aim of the camp is to prepare a blueprint for the party’s Mission 2027.
Gandhi will also hold discussions with leaders from the cooperative sector and dairy farmers.
This discussion takes place against the backdrop of recent protests by dairy farmers outside Sabar Dairy in Himmatnagar town of North Gujarat over milk procurement prices.
As part of efforts to strengthen the party’s organization at the district level ahead of the 2027 state assembly elections, the Congress recently appointed new presidents for all district Congress committees.
