On September 19, the Wuhan Metro METRO New Era APP officially launched the “Group Ticket” feature, allowing one account to bring up to 3 additional people (4 people total) to scan codes through the gates. Other group members no longer need to switch between apps to display their codes.
Passengers should install or update the METRO New Era APP to the latest version (version 7.0.4). From the app’s homepage, enter the ride code interface, click “Activate” in the “Group Ticket” menu, and you can add up to 3 group tickets. When traveling with multiple people, simply switch between Group Tickets 1, 2, and 3 below the code display area to allow each group member to pass through the gate one by one with their own code. The ride fees will be deducted uniformly from the app account.
“When multiple people or the whole family travels by metro together, just one phone with this app is all you need. When using group tickets for multiple passengers, it is recommended that the main code holder passes through the gate last to ensure smooth entry for all group members. Each ticket independently maintains entry and exit status. Please confirm the ticket before use to avoid selecting the wrong one, which could affect travel efficiency or cause abnormal charges. If you encounter any issues during use, please seek assistance from station staff promptly.
