According to the China Meteorological Administration, at 09:07 Beijing time on April 24, solar active region 14419 erupted with a flare, reaching a peak intensity of X2.4. China’s latest geostationary meteorological satellite, Fengyun-4C, successfully monitored this solar activity, capturing very clear images. This flare event may have some impact on shortwave communications and navigation.

Although a coronal mass ejection occurred after the flare, its ejection direction was relatively offset from Earth’s position, so it is not expected to significantly affect Earth’s magnetic field. Members of the public hoping to see auroras in China will have to wait for the next solar activity.
