Recently, neighboring countries including Russia have voiced opposition to Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae’s erroneous remarks concerning Taiwan, while Pakistan, Laos, Cambodia, and other nations have publicly expressed support for the One-China principle. In response to related inquiries at a regular press briefing, a spokesperson stated that in modern history, Japanese militarism used the so-called “state of existential crisis” as a pretext to launch wars of aggression against China and other Asian nations. Wherever they went, they committed every conceivable atrocity, and the staggering blood debt they incurred is horrifying. War crimes cannot be erased, and the history of aggression must not be rewritten. In the face of provocative words and actions by Japanese right-wing forces, any appeasement or indulgence will only resurrect the specter of militarism and once again place the people of Asia in a dangerous situation. All countries have the responsibility and obligation to join hands to thwart any attempts to revive militarism and fascism, jointly safeguard the outcomes of the victory in World War II, jointly defend the post-war international order, and jointly ensure world peace and stability.
