At 10:05 AM on May 17, the Meijiang in Xiushan County reached a peak flood level of 341.78 meters, with a corresponding flow rate of 758 cubic meters per second. This exceeded the warning level (341.47 meters) by 0.31 meters, remained below the guarantee level (343.31 meters) by 1.53 meters, and rose by 5.28 meters. The water level is now continuously receding.
The water resources department requires Xiushan County to closely monitor this round of rainfall and rising water processes, increase consultations and assessments, and improve early warnings and forecasts. It also calls for strengthened patrols and monitoring of rivers, suggesting that construction projects near rivers be halted, traffic controls be implemented on flood-prone bridges to prohibit vehicles and pedestrians, and that threatened residents be evacuated in advance to ensure public safety.
