International Space Station Crew Successfully Completes Spacewalk
Two astronauts from the International Space Station completed a spacewalk on Thursday, successfully installing new solar arrays to boost the station’s power supply. The operation lasted seven hours and 15 minutes, according to mission control.
The new solar panels are part of an ongoing upgrade to ensure the orbital laboratory has sufficient electricity for its scientific experiments and life support systems. The spacewalk was the third this year for the station crew.

During the spacewalk, the astronauts also performed routine maintenance on the station’s exterior, including inspecting thermal insulation and tightening bolts on a robotic arm. All tasks were completed without incident.
The upgraded power system is expected to extend the station’s operational lifespan well into the next decade, supporting continued research in microgravity.
