This year’s Xuhui District series of activities for the Shanghai Tourism Festival are themed “Explore Xuhui, Shop for Excitement,” deeply exploring the resource potential of “urban tourism destinations + trendy consumption hotspots.” Through spatiotemporal routes that run through “day + night, online + offline, on-site + off-site,” the festival combines new “highlights” with metaverse “hotspots” and extends the stage’s “focus points” to provide citizens and tourists with an upgraded joyful experience.
From September 19 to September 28, the Xuhui branch venue activities of the second Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival are themed “Gathering Light to Start Anew.” Centered on Xuhui Binjiang and radiating to Xujiahui, the Metaverse Street, and the Hengfu Historical Area, the festival links resources through a “+ Light and Shadow” model, covering scenes like dining, entertainment, and shopping.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, Xuhui Binjiang will also welcome many “highlights,” including the large-scale installation “Full Moon” and the Light and Shadow Festival. Activities include visiting markets and pop-ups during the day, and taking boat tours and watching performances at night for a full-area experience. The popular Metaverse game street from the summer will continue to revolve around the “metaverse hotspot” of Xinyao Guanglan·Live, inviting players to team up online to clear dungeons and explore IP check-in spots offline.

Find the Rabbit, Admire the Moon, Create Dreams with Light and Shadow. The traditional Xuhui District festival activity “Tang Style Mid-Autumn” will be upgraded and appear across the Xuhui area from October 1 to 8, with the West Bund Dream Center as the main venue. For this “Tang Style Mid-Autumn,” Xuhui Culture and Tourism has specially collaborated with the time-honored brand “White Rabbit” under the Bright Food Group, using the large-scale installation “Full Moon” and playful “Jade Rabbits” to light up the dreamy Binjiang area.
During the National Day holiday, the newly opened Longhua Wharf will pilot the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival night cruise route. Additionally, there will be special themed cruises such as pet-themed boats and the “Happy Tour Shanghai, Find Jay Chou” music-themed boat, creating a land-and-water linkage to invite citizens and tourists to share joyful reunion moments.
During this year’s Shanghai Tourism Festival, Xuhui District offers a continuous program of dramas, concerts, musicals, and演唱会, using a “performance + commerce” model to stimulate urban consumption vitality.
While the excitement from the Mayday concert hasn’t faded, Jay Chou’s “Carnival” World Tour Shanghai stop is about to begin at the Shanghai Stadium. From September 13 to October 12, in conjunction with the authorized Jay Chou IP “Friend Jay,” the “Happy Tour Shanghai, Find Jay Chou” activity has been launched. This initiative links Xuhui commercial landmarks like Metro City through customized bus routes and pop-up stores to attract fans to deeply explore Xuhui and create new cultural tourism consumption scenes.
During the 3rd Xujiahui Trendy Art Season activity, Metro City has set up special “Friend Jay” check-in installations and theme pop-up stores, introducing the trendy brand “Fantasy.” A limited-time market and a巡回 pop-up store station will also be set up from October 6 to 12, selling concert merchandise.
