Ying Yong, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, stated on June 3 in Nanning, Guangxi, at the 27th National Conference on Procuratorial Theory Research and the Annual Conference of the Procuratorial Science Research Association of the China Law Society, that procuratorial supervision is a key feature of the socialist judicial and procuratorial system with Chinese characteristics. He emphasized the need to adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, promote the deep integration of procuratorial practice and theory, strengthen procuratorial supervision, fulfill the responsibilities of the state legal supervision body, and advance the construction of a higher-level rule-of-law China.
Ying Yong pointed out that absolute leadership of the Party over procuratorial work must be maintained, the socialist rule-of-law path with Chinese characteristics must be unwaveringly followed, a correct view of political achievements must be established and practiced, and a practice-oriented approach must be upheld. Focusing on handling each case with high quality and efficiency, and striving to make the people feel fairness and justice in every judicial case, in-depth research and explanation of the legal basis and practical pathways of procuratorial supervision should be conducted, promoting comprehensive law-based performance of duties, and continuously advancing the procuratorial practice of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law.
