Recently, a Guangzhou resident named Azhi (a pseudonym) reported that while dining with a friend at the Zizhou Lou Panyu Square branch, he bit into a chewed betel nut and immediately vomited. Azhi said: “The betel nut was full of saliva. I had already chewed it in my mouth and tasted the betel nut flavor before realizing it was a betel nut.” After informing the restaurant, staff rushed over and grabbed the dish away.
He hopes the restaurant will compensate him with ten times the total meal cost and provide a stamped apology letter, but the restaurant refused.
The restaurant stated they are actively cooperating with the investigation. Before the results are released, they cannot rule out that the betel nut was placed by Azhi or other customers, so they are unwilling to respond or comment. Currently, there is no compensation plan, and they refuse to apologize. Azhi said he has filed a complaint with 12345.
