U.S. single-family home prices backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac remained unchanged in September 2025, following a 0.4% increase in August. Prices rose 0.2% quarter-over-quarter in Q3, indicating moderate growth momentum.
Compared to the same period last year, home prices increased 2.2% from Q3 2024 to Q3 2025.
Nearly all census divisions saw annual price growth, with the Middle Atlantic region showing the largest increase at 5.7%.
The only exception was the Pacific region, where home prices experienced a slight decline of 0.1%.
