On April 23, the latest 2026 Asian University Rankings released by Times Higher Education showed Tsinghua University and Peking University ranking first and second respectively. All eight universities in Hong Kong made it into the top 100, with the University of Hong Kong ranking sixth, Chinese University of Hong Kong tenth, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology twelfth, City University of Hong Kong fourteenth, Hong Kong Polytechnic University eighteenth, and Hong Kong Baptist University fortieth. The Education University of Hong Kong (thirty-seventh) and Lingnan University (eighty-fourth) entered the top 100 for the first time.
Tsinghua University
