On the morning of September 1, the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States was held at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center. The President of the country presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech.

The President emphasized: Uphold seeking common ground while reserving differences. Shared ideals and goals are strength and an advantage; seeking common ground while reserving differences reflects breadth of vision and wisdom. Member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are all friends and partners. They should respect each other’s differences, maintain strategic communication, build collective consensus, strengthen unity and cooperation, expand the scope of cooperation, make good use of each country’s endowments, and jointly shoulder the responsibility of promoting peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region.

Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center

The Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center is a major modern exhibition and conference venue located in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area. It was constructed to support the city’s economic development and has become a key hub for large-scale trade fairs and international events in northern China.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a Eurasian political, economic, and security alliance founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. It originated from the “Shanghai Five” mechanism, which was formed in 1996 to resolve border disputes and build mutual security along their shared frontiers following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Today, it has expanded its focus to include combating terrorism and extremism while promoting cooperation on regional trade and infrastructure.
