According to reports, Shenzhen Postal Customs recently seized a batch of ecstasy with a gross weight of 1,678.1 grams.
During routine inspection of transit goods, customs officers noticed anomalies in the X-ray scan of a package declared as “animal food.” Upon opening the package, they observed wrinkled sealing and clear signs of repackaging. Based on the scan and physical examination, officers suspected the package might contain drugs. Further inspection revealed two bags of purple tablets and two bags of pink tablets. Reagent tests confirmed the presence of ecstasy, which was later verified by a professional testing agency. The case has been transferred to customs anti-smuggling authorities for further investigation.

Customs officials remind the public that according to Article 347 of China’s Criminal Law, smuggling, selling, transporting, or manufacturing drugs—regardless of quantity—is a criminal offense punishable by law.
