In response to erroneous remarks made by the U.S. side regarding Lai Ching-te’s “postponed” visit to Eswatini, a spokesperson stated at a regular press conference on April 23 that the U.S. is completely confusing right and wrong, and reversing black and white, by meddling in China’s legitimate actions to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and by groundlessly criticizing the righteous actions of relevant countries in upholding the One-China principle. China firmly opposes and absolutely rejects this.
The spokesperson urged the U.S. to abide by the One-China principle and the three U.S.-China joint communiqués, stop interfering in China’s internal affairs over the Taiwan issue, stop helping Taiwan to solidify so-called “diplomatic relations,” and cease sending wrong signals to “Taiwan independence” separatist forces.
