As the first stop of the Shandong Special, the Shandong University session attracted 360 prestigious enterprises from Guangdong Province, bringing 13,000 high-quality on-site job opportunities, with master’s and doctoral positions accounting for more than half.

On April 21, the “Million Talents Gathering in Southern Guangdong” 2026 N-City Joint Spring Recruitment Event (Shandong Special) kicked off at Shandong University.
The event, themed “Gathering Talents in Guangdong, Seeing the Future in Guangdong,” precisely aligned the high-quality development needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with the talent resource advantages of Shandong universities. The Shandong Special consisted of two stops: the first was held on April 21 at Shandong University’s Zhixin Building Square; the second stop will follow on the next day, April 22, at the Cherry Blossom Avenue of Ocean University of China’s Laoshan Campus.
Notably, alongside the recruitment event, a “Guangdong Products Go Global: Zhongshan Goods Enter Shandong” exhibition and sales event was held from April 20 to 21. Zhongshan brought nearly 500 premium products to the city of Jinan, bringing the Lingnan style to the land of Shandong. The two events—recruitment for talent and exhibition for business—complemented each other, jointly promoting deep cooperation between Zhongshan and Shandong in industries, talent, culture, and more.
More Than Half of Positions for Master’s and Doctoral Candidates, Guangdong’s “Hardcore” Talent Drive
The recruitment site buzzed with activity. Booths were surrounded by job seekers inquiring and submitting resumes. Many master’s and doctoral candidates held their resumes, engaging in in-depth discussions with corporate recruiters, as the on-site demand-supply enthusiasm continued to heat up.
In this recruitment event, master’s and doctoral positions accounted for more than half of the total, with over 2,800 master’s positions and over 3,800 doctoral positions.
“Gathering talent through industries, revitalizing industries with talent.” By industry type, over 70% of positions belonged to Guangdong’s 20 strategic industrial clusters. Among these, positions in emerging and future industries such as artificial intelligence, high-end equipment manufacturing, and biotechnology accounted for 32%, precisely matching the employment needs and development expectations of high-level talent.
As a key node city in the Greater Bay Area, Zhongshan is leading with four major industries—new energy, biomedicine and health, next-generation information technology, and smart home appliances—to build a “4+6” modern industrial system. The demand for high-level talent across the industrial chain was clearly reflected in the job structure.
Companies’ sustained investment in high salaries further demonstrated Guangdong’s genuine commitment to attracting talent. In terms of salary levels, the event offered nearly 7,000 positions with annual salaries of 80,000 to 200,000 yuan, over 4,000 positions with 200,000 to 500,000 yuan, and more than 1,800 positions with 500,000 to 1,000,000 yuan. Among these, over 3,300 positions offered annual salaries above 200,000 yuan, and 283 positions offered million-yuan annual salaries, almost all targeting doctoral and postdoctoral high-level talent.
A special “Doctoral and Postdoctoral Zone” was set up at the event, where many state-owned enterprise leaders and company chairmen personally oversaw and approved talent recruitment. The Party Secretary and Chairman of Zhongshan City Construction Group, and the Party Secretary and Chairman of Zhongshan Xingzhong Group, among others, were all present, truly opening a fast track from “resume” to “offer,” allowing high-level talent to feel the sincerity and efficient service of Guangdong’s talent attraction.</p
