In the first half of the year, A-share listed companies achieved growth in both revenue and net profit. According to statistics, as of August 30, 5,424 A-share listed companies had disclosed their 2025 interim reports, with total operating revenue reaching 34.99 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.02%; net profit attributable to shareholders reached 2.99 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.45%.
Specifically, more than 77% (4,178 companies) of listed companies achieved profitability, and nearly 54% (2,908 companies) achieved positive growth in net profit, including 661 companies with net profit growth exceeding 100%.
High Growth in Consumer and Technology Sectors
In the first half of the year, the consumer and technology sectors performed strongly. According to the primary industry classification, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishing, computer, and electronics industries showed strong performance, with both revenue and net profit growth rates ranking among the top.
In terms of net profit growth, the comprehensive industry had the highest growth rate in the first half of the year, with performance increasing by over 8 times. The agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishing and steel industries also performed prominently, achieving doubled performance, with net profit growth rates of 170.06% and 157.17%, respectively. Additionally, building materials, computers, non-ferrous metals, media, and electronics industries also ranked high, with growth rates exceeding 28%.
In terms of revenue growth, the electronics industry ranked first with a growth rate of 19.10%, followed by the computer industry with a growth rate of 11.40%. Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishing, household appliances, and non-bank financial industries also ranked among the top.
Three Companies Exceeded Trillion Yuan in Revenue
In the first half of the year, 56 A-share companies achieved revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan, including 6 companies with revenue exceeding 500 billion yuan and 3 companies with revenue exceeding 1 trillion yuan.
The top 10 companies by revenue were mainly state-owned enterprises, including the “two oil giants,” infrastructure “iron army,” and telecommunications operators. The top three were PetroChina (601857.SH), Sinopec (600028.SH), and China State Construction Engineering (601668.SH). The “two oil giants” both achieved revenue exceeding 1.4 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, while China State Construction Engineering also exceeded 1 trillion yuan in revenue.
It is worth mentioning that BYD (002594.SZ), with a growth rate of 23.30%, entered the top 10 by revenue with over 370 billion yuan, becoming the only company from the automotive industry on the list.

Top Three Companies by Revenue Growth Are All from the STAR Market
In terms of revenue growth, 7 companies achieved revenue growth exceeding 10 times in the first half of the year, and 4 companies achieved revenue growth exceeding 20 times.
The top three companies by revenue growth were all listed on the STAR Market. The top two companies were from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Zhixiang Jintai-U (688443.SH) led with a revenue growth rate of over 3,500 times, while Haichuang Pharmaceutical-U (688302.SH) ranked second with a growth rate of nearly 120 times. Both pharmaceutical companies had innovative drugs approved for market in the first half of the year. However, both companies reported revenue of less than 50 million yuan in the first half of the year.
