Chongqing Customs announced that in the first three quarters of 2025, Chongqing’s total foreign trade import and export value reached 581.98 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.3%.
During the first three quarters of 2025, ASEAN was Chongqing’s largest trading partner, with trade between Chongqing and ASEAN reaching 99.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.2%. During the same period, trade with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries reached 264.08 billion yuan, up 11.8% year-on-year. Trade with emerging markets including Latin America, Africa, and Central Asia grew by 17.5%, 38%, and 76% respectively.
In the first three quarters of 2025, Chongqing exported mechanical and electrical products worth 360.82 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8% year-on-year, accounting for 90% of Chongqing’s total export value. Laptop exports reached 113.28 billion yuan, maintaining the top position nationally in export value. Automobile exports reached 33.73 billion yuan, up 6.4% year-on-year, with electric vehicle exports totaling 9.79 billion yuan, a significant increase of 69.1%. Mobile phone and motorcycle exports reached 43.73 billion yuan and 19.86 billion yuan respectively, growing by 44.3% and 37.9% year-on-year.
The “Chongqing Vehicle Global Expansion” Action Plan mentions accelerating the construction of a nationally leading intelligent connected new energy vehicle export base. By 2027, the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry is expected to form strong international radiation capacity with annual export value exceeding 120 billion yuan.
