On August 26, the first phase of Chengdu Rail Transit Line 13 officially began unloaded trial operation. The project has entered its final sprint stage, marking a significant step toward opening for initial operation within the year.

Line 13 Phase 1 is Chengdu’s first fully automated rail transit line using regional Type A trains. It runs from Wayaotan Station in the west to Long’an Station in the east, with a total length of 29.07 km entirely underground. The line has a maximum operating speed of 100 km/h and includes 21 stations, 11 of which are transfer stations. It covers core areas such as Qingyang District, Wuhou District, Jinjiang District, and Longquanyi District. Once operational, it will strengthen the connection between Longquanyi District and the central urban area, effectively improving the accessibility of the regional rail transit network.

Unloaded trial operation is a critical phase before the new line opens for initial operation, serving as a comprehensive and in-depth inspection of the preparatory work.

Prior to this unloaded trial operation, Chengdu Rail Transit Group has fully completed all prerequisite preparations. Taking into account differences in line engineering and system equipment, key tasks such as fully automated operation scenario verification, system integration testing, and regulation development have been accomplished.

During the trial operation period, the safety, availability, and reliability of operational organization management and equipment systems will be thoroughly verified in strict accordance with initial operational standards, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality opening of Line 13 Phase 1.

Moving forward, Chengdu Rail Transit Group will continue to advance the remaining preparatory work with high standards and strict requirements, ensuring safe, convenient, efficient, and comfortable travel for passengers after the new line opens.
