Shanghai Municipal Government Decision on Awarding the Fifth Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Prize

To further advance the development of Shanghai as a city with strong intellectual property rights and continuously enhance the important role of intellectual property innovation, the municipal government has decided to recognize and reward enterprises, institutions, and outstanding patent projects that have achieved remarkable results in the creation, protection, and application of intellectual property.

Based on voluntary applications and departmental recommendations, and following expert nominations, preliminary evaluations, re-evaluations, and deliberations by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Prize Selection Committee, the municipal government has decided to award the following units and projects with the Fifth Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Prize:

1. Award the Shanghai Intellectual Property Prize (Creation) to three units including the Achievement Transformation Office of the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the Shanghai Intellectual Property Prize (Protection) to three units including Shanghai Natural Hall Group Co., Ltd.; and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Prize (Application) to three units including the Technology Transfer Office of ShanghaiTech University.

2. Award the Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Prize (Patent First Prize) to five patents including « Combustor Head, Combustor, Gas Turbine Engine, and Combustion Control Method »; the Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Prize (Patent Second Prize) to 15 patents including « A Modular Intelligent Combined Wind Power Converter and Its Control Method »; and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Prize (Patent Third Prize) to 25 patents including « Tin Bath Edge Heating Structure and Tin Bath ».

The awarded units and organizations and individuals behind the winning patents are encouraged to continue their efforts and strive for greater achievements. All enterprises, institutions, and professionals in technology and intellectual property across the city are encouraged to follow their example, pursue truth and practicality, explore innovation, and continuously promote high-quality creation, high-level protection, and high-efficiency application of intellectual property. This will contribute to Shanghai’s goal of becoming an international hub for intellectual property protection and an international intellectual property center city, as well as accelerating the establishment of a globally influential science and technology innovation center.
