This year marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of Tachihi High School. With its school buildings and facilities completely renovated, the school has stepped into a new stage. We spoke about the school’s unique features and strengths.
—You took up your post last spring. What are your impressions of the students at Hino High School?
Many students are honest and cheerful, such as by greeting others properly in the morning. They actively engage in classes with curiosity and respond sensitively to teachers’ questions, showing good responsiveness.
—What is the background behind fostering this school culture?
One factor is the educational achievements of each family, and another is the climate born from the school’s history and culture. Hino High School, located between the Asakawa River and the hills, has a spacious and beautiful surrounding landscape. The rich natural environment fosters warm human nature and overflowing passion.
—What are the unique features and strengths of Hino High School?
First, club activities are very active. Also, school events are lively. At the sports festival, students from first to third grade are divided vertically into four groups. The cheering competitions held by each group are unique and show strong unity. The cultural festival (Hino High School Festival) is deeply rooted in the local community, attracting over 4,300 visitors over two days last year.
