The man is suspected of damaging a passenger car driven by a woman in her 40s by striking it with a cane on a road in Nishino 1-jo 9-chome, Nishi Ward, Sapporo, around 5:30 p.m. on February 22.
According to police, the man was walking on the roadway. When a woman driving by stopped her car and honked the horn, the man struck the vehicle with his cane.
The two were not acquainted. The man denies the allegations, stating, “The other car started moving and my cane just happened to hit it.”
