From today, China will implement a visa exemption policy for citizens with ordinary passports from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay, adding new members to China’s unilateral visa-free “circle of friends”.
From June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, citizens of the aforementioned five countries holding ordinary passports can enter China without a visa for purposes such as business, tourism, family visits, exchanges, and transit, for periods not exceeding 30 days.
This is the first time that China’s visa exemption policy has been extended to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. To date, the number of countries eligible for China’s unilateral visa exemption has expanded to 43.
