Chongqing Zoo Animals Enjoy a Special “Zongzi Feast” for the Dragon Boat Festival

On May 31st, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, it’s the traditional Chinese festival of Dragon Boat Festival. On that day, the caretakers at the Chongqing Zoo prepared a unique “Zongzi feast” for the animals in the zoo.

The caretakers, according to the different eating habits and nutritional needs of the animals, used fresh ingredients such as tender bamboo leaves, alfalfa, meat, grains, and fruits to wrap into “Zongzi”. Animals such as red pandas, giraffes, brown bears, and black panthers all tasted this festive delicacy, enjoying themselves and looking adorable.
