Former Mayor of Bandung has officially been released after serving a sentence for corruption in the Bandung Smart City project. Yana received a conditional release program from Sukamiskin Prison in Bandung on June 13, 2025.

Yana’s release was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of Sukamiskin Prison in Bandung.

« He has carried out the conditional release. The person in question was presented to the Bandung Correctional Center on June 13, 2025, » said the spokesperson when contacted on Sunday (14/9/2025).

News of Yana’s release was also observed through a post by the Head of the Bandung City Regional Disaster Management Agency on his personal Instagram account. In a video titled « Former District Head Reunion, » he was seen taking a photo with several people, including Yana.

« As the Former Wetland District Head and Former Kanhay District Head, of course I was present, » he wrote.

He was implicated in a corruption case on April 14, 2023, after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation. During the operation, two Bandung City Government officials were also detained: former Head of Transportation Dadang Darmawan and Deputy Head Khairur Rijal, as well as three private parties.

In the trial, the panel of judges found Yana guilty of accepting bribes along with his two subordinates. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of IDR 200 million, with a substitute of 3 months imprisonment. The total bribes received reached IDR 2.16 billion, with the largest portion going to Khairur Rijal, while Yana was said to have received IDR 400 million.

In addition to imprisonment, Yana was also required to pay restitution of IDR 435 million along with the foreign currency he received: SGD 14,520, JPY 645,000, USD 3,000, and THB 15,630. If unable to pay within one month after the verdict was read, his sentence would be extended by one year.

The spokesperson added that with his current status, Yana remains under the supervision of the Bandung Correctional Center until his sentence is completed in accordance with regulations.

The Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council of HIPMI Majalengka expressed his pride in the enthusiasm of the residents.

According to committee data, nearly 6,000 people attended the event, including visitors from neighboring regions such as Kuningan, Cirebon, and Indramayu. In addition to enjoying music, visitors also supported local MSMEs through the provided bazaar.

Beyond being an entertainment event, the festival also served as a meeting space for business actors, creative communities, and the public to build networks, discuss, and formulate steps to strengthen Majalengka’s creative ecosystem.
