From the morning of August 24th to the morning of August 25th, the northwestern South China Sea and the Beibu Gulf are expected to experience huge to monstrous waves of 5 to 8 meters. The coastal waters of eastern and southern Hainan will see large to huge waves of 3 to 5.8 meters.
Regarding storm surge, the coastal areas from Yangjiang, Guangdong to the eastern coast of the Leizhou Peninsula will experience a storm surge increase of 50 to 120 centimeters. The coastal areas of Hainan Island will see a storm surge increase of 40 to 100 centimeters.
Vessels operating in the aforementioned sea areas are advised to pay attention to safety. Relevant coastal units should take wave prevention and avoidance measures in advance.
