Typhoon “Kammuri” will continue to intensify and move towards the southern coast of Hainan Island.

During its development, the outer wind circulation of the typhoon will affect southern Guangdong, causing rainfall in many areas.

According to weather radar echo images, as of 13:00 on the 24th, scattered rainfall occurred in southwestern and central Guangdong. Among them, 10 districts in Guangzhou, excluding Conghua, issued yellow warnings for thunderstorms and strong winds.

At the same time, a number of typhoon warnings were issued for the southern coastal areas of Guangdong, with Xuwen and Leizhou issuing yellow typhoon warnings.

The provincial meteorological observatory forecasts that on the 24th and 25th, the Leizhou Peninsula will experience heavy rain to torrential rain, locally heavy downpours, accompanied by gusty winds of force 7-10; coastal counties (districts) and islands of Maoming, Yangjiang, and Jiangmen will see heavy rain locally turning torrential, with gusty winds of force 6-8; central and northern cities and counties will have scattered thunderstorms, locally accompanied by short-term gusty winds of force 7-9. On the 26th and 27th, central and southern Guangdong will experience frequent thunderstorm activity, while some cities and counties in the central and northern regions will see high temperatures around 35°C.

Specifically, on the 24th, coastal cities and counties in western Guangdong will have heavy rain to torrential rain locally turning into heavy downpours; the Pearl River Delta and the rest of western Guangdong will experience (thunder) showers locally heavy; the remaining cities and counties will be cloudy with isolated (thunder) showers.

On the 25th, coastal areas of western Guangdong and Jiangmen will have moderate to heavy rain locally torrential; the remaining cities and counties will have scattered (thunder) showers.

On the 26th, western Guangdong and southern coastal cities and counties will experience (thunder) showers; the remaining cities and counties will be cloudy with isolated (thunder) showers.

On the 27th, most cities and counties will be cloudy with scattered (thunder) showers in the afternoon, locally heavy rain or torrential rain.
