The Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of accidents caused by electricity in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Telangana: The Human Rights Commission has demanded a detailed report on accidents occurring in Hyderabad and the state due to flaws in the electrical supply. Officials have been asked to include information about the measures taken to prevent such accidents in the report.
The Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of recurring accidents leading to fatalities in Hyderabad, especially in the Sagar Road area, due to dangerous and poorly maintained electrical lines.
The Commission has directed the Principal Secretary of the Energy Department, Government of Telangana, to submit a detailed factual report by July 28, 2025, regarding the accidents caused by electricity in the past two years, the precautionary steps taken so far, the corrective measures implemented to improve dangerous electrical lines, and the compensation provided to the victims or their families.
